Dasiy

This was a work of Love, the Love for everything Pink, full of ruffles and a touch of Keri Mecca's whimsy! It might be bitter cold outside but I see spring on the way with this dress!
It's mini check gingham in Pink with a white rick rack trim.

Easter around the corner

I finished my first of many Easter Dresses this year! It's Ice Yellow Spring Princess fabric made of a Ice lemon yellow swiss dotted fabric from Farmhouse Fabrics. I love working with this fabric and pattern. I did how ever use a combination of two patterns for this dress.  I smocked the sleeves with a white DMC thread and used a  Swiss Insertion Wide Beading inWhite with a Double Faced Satin Ice Yellow Ribbon. I so excited to get started on my next Dress.

I hope everyone has a Blessed 2011~ Happy New Year!

Song of a Sewing Machine by Constance Woodrow (1899-1937)
Oh, the happiest worker of all am I,
As my wheel and my needle so merrily fly;
With a spool full of thread and a heart full of song,
I am ready and willing to work the day long.
Oh, faster and faster my glad wheel flies
When it catches the light in a young maid's eyes;
The dearest and tenderest girlhood dreams
I stitch into gossamer hems and seams.
But slower my wheel and softer my song
When fairy-like fragments are guided along
I am stitching the dreams most sacred of all
Into dear little gowns and a wee silken shawl.

For a Special Little Girl

My husband phyiscal therpist has little girl that comes with him to visit us.  She is delightful! She helps me walk the dogs and tells me all about being 6 years old. I whipped up this little Apron Dress for her for Christmas she loved Juliana's Mod Squad outfit. I had extra material so I changed it up making sure i did not add to much because she's all grown up in her words. I got this Idea from the Sew Beautiful Issue 131, The ultimmate Apron by Khristal Jouett. This dress is so ease my husband can make it!

Merry Christmas!

Here is the Christmas Dress I made for my new granddaughter! It was a run for the finish. I completed it at 11:45pm the nite of the 23rd and she wore it Christmas eve.  I made it with a Dupioni Cream Silk Fabric with Christmas Red Detail. I smocked the sleeves and was careful not to over do it since she a newborn.  I used a Peter Pan collar with red detailed embroidery. Simply and sweet! So here is Juliana and here 1st Christmas dress!

MOD SQUAD FASHION

Just in time for Christmas my Mod Squad 2 pc set for my grandbaby Juliana.  I can picture her in it now.  I got this Idea from the Sew Beautiful Issue 131, The ultimmate Apron by Khristal Jouett. This was a fun outfit to make.  I used Keri Mecca's book Sewing with Whimsy to add alittle fun.  She thinks outside of the box making children clothes fun and finished.  I love braiding ric rack and making the flowers, so much I added them to the bottom of the Capri pants.  This will be a cool outfit for the hot summers.
